During the third quarter of 2021, the travel and local app market in the United Arab Emirates showed varied performance across the top five Android apps. The data, provided by Sensor Tower, gives insights into weekly downloads and active users, offering a snapshot of how these apps fared.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel started Q3 with around 3.6K weekly downloads, peaking mid-July at 4.3K. The app saw a dip in downloads through August, hitting a low of 2.8K, but rebounded to 3.6K by the end of September. Active users saw a steady increase early in the quarter, reaching 110K in late July, but experienced a decline to around 94K by the end of September.

Google Earth witnessed an initial surge in weekly downloads, starting with 1.8K and peaking early July at 6.5K. Downloads fluctuated thereafter, ending the quarter at about 3.4K. Active user numbers followed a similar pattern, starting at 10K and peaking at 20K in early July, before stabilizing around 14K by the end of the quarter.

GetYourGuide: Travel & Tickets had a varied quarter in terms of downloads, beginning with 3.2K in late June and seeing a significant dip to just 419 in late July. The app recovered in September, reaching a high of 5.7K. Active users followed a similar trajectory, starting at 11K, dropping mid-quarter, and then climbing to approximately 17K by mid-September.

MakeMyTrip - Flights & Hotels showed steady growth in weekly downloads, from 1.7K at the start of the quarter to nearly 3K by the end of September. Active user numbers also steadily increased, beginning at 9.2K and rising to 13K by the end of the quarter.

GDRFA Dubai experienced a notable peak in downloads in early August with 4.1K, following a low of 445 in mid-July. Downloads then tapered off, ending September with approximately 1.6K.
